It's still in early-access despite it's 2015 release, but has no micro-transactions of any kind and the game is free so it's safe to assume the developers are running out of pocket, so it's understandable. THIS IS A BASIC REVIEW FOR CODENAME CURE DESCRIBING MY EXPERIENCE AND GENERAL GAMEPLAY, PROS AND CONS ARE SUBJECT TO THE PLAYER'S EXPERIENCE.Ĭodename CURE is a zombie-survival mod designed on the Source Engine, developed a while ago but released on Steam later in it's life. Play NMRiH, Zombie Panic! Or save your money and get l4d2, CS:S, CS:GO, Garry's Mod, etc if you're really wanting a lasting, entertaining experience. My summary is that Codename CURE is neither original nor provides enough content to make it refreshing or worthwhile to spend time one when in comparison there are free to play Zombie Source shooters with an exponentially larger amount of content and replayability. Features are tweaked and added, and the community has offered a wealth of custom content ranging from textures to maps and even new game modes. In comparison, Zombie Panic! Source and No More Room in Hell have a far more active player base and as a whole are a better game, with more development from the community as well as the game devs. The gameplay is repetitive and unimagineative, essentially the old school "zombie escape" game modes we used to play as kids as far back as Counter Strike 1.6. However when it comes to difficulty it's repetitive and boring, there are limited maps and even more limited servers because of how few people still play. The only reason that brainbread 2 is worse than CURE is because CURE actually functions with relative difficulty to it, it's very hard to win if you don't know how to use your guns. The population is already worse than what you'll find in 2 of the 4 in that small list, with the only game worse than CURE being Brainbread 2. In no shape or form does Codename CURE compare to it's competition. Keep that in mind, Codename CURE is one of FOUR free to play source engine games revolving around one simple concept: Survive against hordes of zombies. Overall in retrospect, the concept of a Zombie survival shooter game is not new anymore, it's virtually impossible to present anything original in base concept in the genre, and even harder on the Source Engine, where there is already a zombie mode in virtually every source game as well as not 1 but 4 free to play games. The game sports a variety of difficulty options which adapt dynamically with the number of players. Resupply in-between waves with a dynamic selection of weapons and equipment for your best chance to survive until the next round.ĬURE can be played both on and offline, with or without computer controlled team mates. Survival mode is a wave based no-win scenario, test your skills with the odds increasingly stacked against you. Pick your speciality out of five player classes: Pointman, Support, Assault, Technician and Sniper, using each ones unique play style and equipment to support your team, and successfully complete each mission. In objective mode play as a team of special military operatives, tasked with “curing” infected areas of a post-apocalyptic world, by planting controlled explosives before pulling a short sharp exit. ميزات Codename CUREĪbout the GameCodename CURE is a first person, co-operative zombie game with support for up to five players, providing dynamic, fast-paced zombie fragging with both objective, and survival-based missions.
